Our Mission is... to increase the development of a pine biomass to energy
industry, decrease the nationç—´ dependence on imported energy
resources, improve the environment, and stimulate the regionç—´
economy, with a focus on rural areas. Pine 2 Energy Includes Pine 2 Ethanol While pine trees can be used for
numerous forms of energy, there is an immediate opportunity with
cellulosic ethanol. Cellulosic
ethanol is made from non-food products, such as corn stalks,
switchgrass, and wood chips; such as pine.
Pine 2 Electricity Pine can be used in biomass
combustion boilers to generate heat and steam for turbines,
which generate electricity.
Pine 2 Industrial Energy Pine chips can be used as feedstock
in direct combustion systems to simply produce heat or steam for
industrial processing. Furthermore,
pine can be used in gasification systems, which produce a
synthetic gas that can be used similarly to natural gas.
Pine 2 Pellets Wood pellets are created by
densification of pine biomass to create uniform solid fuel
pellets. Fuel
pellets can be used in smaller boilers, furnaces, and other
energy systems; as well as being co-fired with coal in coal
electricity plants. This
co-firing reduces the amount of carbon and sulfur being emitted
into the atmosphere.

Renewable Currently Georgia has over 24 Million acres of
forest land to help offset the need
for foreign oil and Georgia
timberland owners are growing 22% more wood each year
than is being removed from forests. |

Plentiful Current byproducts and residuals of construction and pulp
milling will be used to create a variety of forms of
energy. So, while
fast-growing pines can be grown for the purpose of
energy, a large untapped potential lies in biomass
residuals not good for other uses. |

Carbon Neutral Pine is essentially carbon neutral, which means it
removes as much carbon from the atmosphere as it
releases when used for energy. |
